Watch Components · Planetarium Concept

This OOH screen aimed to celebrate the harmony of science and art embodied within a Rolex watch by emulating the feeling of gazing up into an immense planetarium. Each component — rotor, bezel, oyster case and hairspring — are locked in orbit, balanced in perfect equilibrium.

I designed, animated and composited this planetarium concept as a way of illustrating the theme — each piece rotating around each other and set within this Rolex solar system.

I also crafted the initial previsualisation of the screen in Cinema 4D — defining the subtleties of each watch component’s character, whilst maintaining a sense of balance between them.

It was crucial to keep their scale monumental and movements graceful within the confines of the physical screen.
